We are newbies experimenting with photography. We choose a theme and shoot that theme for a couple of weeks or so.
Originally our rule was that we could not manipulate our photos using software, apart from cropping and altering the orientation and using any in-camera effects that our cameras will allow. However, now we are experimenting with Photoshop also.

Christmas
Although tricky to photograph I am sorta pleased with these two photos. Just want to get out there and try, try, try again.
Today was the day for putting up the Christmas tree and decorating it. It took an extra long time this year as I had to stop and take lots of photos. Here are my favourites. Really like the photo of the stars. When school finishes I am going to focus on taking photos of lights. I am sooo looking forward to taking those shots.
Nice. My fave is number one showing the ball and tinsel. Why? I like the way the tinsel hugs the ball... it makes the shot feel cosy and warm. The colour of the ball is also in the colour of the tinsel in the background. And it's nice and shiny. In the star shot I like the bright star shining. It makes me think of the star shining over Bethlehem. Did you make those nice cuddly Santa's?
No, I am no good at cooking, knitting, sewing etc. My Mum made them for the kids when they were little. I just don't have those normal female skills. I am hoping to be good at taking photos. Can't wait to see yours. And thanks for the nice comments. I thought I was so clever - a shining star.
